Ryan Richardson hands out his ratings as Rovers make it four without defeat in the league…
Thomas Kaminski 8
He’s been nothing short of amazing since he joined and that was no different today, didn’t have much to do regarding saves but managed to deal with every cross that came into the box to help us get the win.
Ryan Nyambe 7
Wasn’t as ferocious going forward but was solid defensively to deny a lively Mpanzu. 7
Darragh Lenihan 9 (MAN OF THE MATCH)
A real captain’s performance, some fantastic interceptions and tackles while dealing with everything in the air is why he’s my man of the match.
Jarrad Branthwaite 9
Made a fantastic start to his Rovers career, fantastic play on the ball while also providing some fantastic tackles. Seems to have already performed a great partnership with Lenihan.
Barry Douglas 8
Seems to be getting better as the weeks go on, was a threat going forward down the left and put up a solid defensive display especially with his brilliant goal saving block in the dying embers of the game.
Lewis Travis 7
Picked up his standard yellow card but he was playing like the Travis we all know and love, he hunted down the opposition and broke up play well in the midfield.
Stewart Downing 6
Controlled the game well like he does in the first half, but there wasn’t enough passes in the final third.
Joe Rothwell 6
Seemed to be the Rovers bright spark in the first half but his normal direct running wasn’t at full display which could be because of the state of the pitch.
Harvey Elliott 5
A quiet game for the 17-year-old, several passes that he tried didn’t come off unfortunately and overall just struggled to impact the game.
Adam Armstrong 7
Scored the second headed goal of his career to get the win and will be disappointed that he didn’t get more.
Ben Brereton 6
Not as effective as we know he can be but provided another outlet on the left- hand side but struggled when moved into the middle.
Sam Gallagher (replacing Ben Brereton, 61 mins) 7
Fantastic header to set up the winner, was full of running as he always is and gave Rovers a different presence late on.
Bradley Dack (replacing Harvey Elliott, 61 mins) 6
Struggled to get involved in the game but his movement at times was great just wasn’t spotted by his teammates.
Tyrhys Dolan (replacing Joe Rothwell, 61 mins) 7
Provided a massive bright spark off the bench, his first instinct was to always run at the full back and create chances. Will be disappointed not to score in the second half.
Lewis Holtby (replacing Stewart Downing, 61 mins) 7
Caught the Luton player off guard with his fantastic delivery to Gallagher which set up the winner. Looked more like the Holtby from earlier on in the season in his brief involvement.
