Rovers have confirmed the signing of Crewe Alexandra left-back Harry Pickering for an undisclosed fee.
The left-back has been the subject of interest and rumours throughout the January window, and after having an initial bid rejected, Tony Mowbray has finally got his man.
Pickering will now spend the second half of the season on loan with League One side Crewe Alexandra – where we’ll monitor his progress in our Loan Watch series – before linking back up with Rovers in the summer.
Fellow left-back Amari’i Bell is out of contract this season, and with Barry Douglas’ future unclear due to him being out of contract at the end of the season and his loan spell expiring here, it is evident that Pickering will be the first-choice from next season.
Pickering has made 146 appearances for Crewe since coming through the academy set-up, after making his debut in March 2017, aged just 19.
