A tall defender who arrived at the club in 2014, Hayden Carter has the ability to play anywhere across the back line or in the centre of midfield.
Carter became a regular in the U18s side, before moving up to the U23s, scoring in the Lancashire Senior Cup final victory against local rivals Burnley, with Rovers running out as 2-0 winners.
He then became a regular of Rovers' matchday squads in the second half of the 2019-20 season, before making his debut after football restarted behind closed doors, starting in the 4-3 victory over Reading.
Carter continued his involvement with the senior side in the first half of the 2020-21 campaign, being used as a substitute in the Barnsley victory before moving to League One outift Burton Albion in January 2021 until the end of the season.
The 21-year-old will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Darragh Lenihan, who had a loan spell with the Brewers before breaking into the first-team squad at Rovers.
