Ratings: How the Rovers players performed in the draw with Bristol City

Following the drab, boring 0-0 draw with Bristol City, Jonathan Secker hands out his player ratings...

Thomas Kaminski 6

Provided the highlight of the game for me when dribbling round Wells at the start of the second half.  A spectator in the first half but made a good late save from Diedhiou, tipping his shot onto the post. Will be happy to have kept a rare clean sheet.

Always a threat and kept providing an option down the right. Tried to keep the team on the front foot and came closest to scoring in the first half.

Barry Douglas 6

Superb cross to Armstrong early on followed by a couple of poor free-kicks later in the first half. Always an option as he tried to push forward more in the second half.

Darragh Lenihan 6

Solid performance again from the skipper who looks to be building a decent partnership with Harwood-Bellis.  Did well to keep Diedhiou quiet.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis 6

Another decent performance from the Man City loanee. Looks more assured by the game and deserving his run in the team.

Bradley Johnson 5

Looked rusty early on and wasteful in position. Was sacrificed after 70 minutes.

Lewis Holtby 6

A game of two halves for me – largely invisible in the first half but much more involved and influential in the second half when playing further forward. Could have perhaps done better with two second half chances.

Joe Rothwell 6

Our biggest threat in the first half with some driving runs to put us on the front foot. Not as involved in the second half which was frustrating.

Harvey Elliott 5

A quite game for Harvey. He just didn’t seem to be able to get involved enough or influence the game.

Ben Brereton 5

Struggling to recapture his early season form and consistency. He battled hard but never really seemed to get going.

Adam Armstrong 5

Good to see him back in the side and involved throughout the first half. Snatched at an early chance where he should have done better.

Tyrhys Dolan (on 69 mins, replacing Adam Armstrong) 5

Had to be content with a place on the bench where recent performances had warranted more.  Looked lively when he came on always keen to get on the ball.  Should have been introduced much earlier into the game.

John Buckley (on 69 mins, replacing Harvey Elliott) 5

Can feel unlucky not to start the game and was heavily involved when coming on picking up some useful positions. Like Dolan, he should have been introduced earlier.

Sam Gallagher (on 69 mins, replacing Ben Brereton) 5

Mostly deployed out wide (again) but lacked any service to utilise him as a target man.

Tom Trybull (on 70 mins, replacing Bradley Johnson) 5

Went about his business in his usual way, was never going to be a match winner coming off the bench.

Corry Evans (on 90 mins, replacing Joe Rothwell) N/A

Late sub for Rothwell. Not enough time to make an impact.

Thanks for reading, and stay safe.
