Three first-half goals gave Rovers U18s their fifth consecutive victory in the U18 Premier League as they ran out as 3-1 winners at Middlesbrough.
Goals from Jay Haddow, Jared Harlock and Zak Gilsenan put Mike Sheron’s side in complete control at the break.
A goal from Middlesbrough’s Andrew Nelson gave the hosts hope early in the second half, but Rovers remained defensively strong and held out for all three points.
Middlesbrough ended the match with ten men, as Lucas Reed was dismissed following a second booking in injury time.

The victory means it is now five league wins in a row, added to the young Rovers’ progression into the final four of the U17 Premier League Cup tournament.
Rovers’ upturn in form came after a disappointing start to the U18 Premier League season, in which Sheron’s side had only picked up five points in their first thirteen fixtures.
The U18s are next in action on Tuesday night as they take on Sunderland U18s at the Academy of Light.
