Daniel Ainsworth hands out his ratings as Rovers lose to Wycombe…

In a match that saw Rovers lose their tenth match by a 1-0 scoreline, there was little of note to choose from

Thomas Kaminski 6

Can’t recall a save he had to make. Questions about Wycombe’s goal but Onyedinma should not have been allowed to make that run past the defenders.

Joe Rankin-Costello 5

He was given a tough time by Onyedinma a couple of times early on. Settled as a match went on but an injury brought an end to his afternoon.

Darragh Lenihan 6

Dealt well with the physicality of Ikpeazu and looks to have formed a strong partnership with Harwood-Bellis since they started playing together.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis 7 (MAN OF THE MATCH)

Always willing to put his body on the line. Calm with the ball at his feet and seems to have everything to make it at the highest level of English football. Man of the match for me. Would love for him to return next season.

Barry Douglas 5

Not one of his better performances in a Rovers shirt. Muskwe gave him a tough time out wide and his set pieces weren’t up to scratch either.

Tom Trybull 5

Scrappy performance from the German. Struggled to get on the ball and help Rovers get moving, and gave away some silly fouls.

Joe Rothwell 5

His performance almost sums up the season in a word – frustrating. Wasn’t on the ball enough, and when he did he just couldn’t create anything of note.

Lewis Holtby 4

Disappointing performance. Gave away some needless fouls and couldn’t get Rovers moving forward with his passing.

Ben Brereton 4

Poor first touch and created next to nothing going forward. Seems to be struggling again as the team does. Needs a goal for confidence.

Harvey Elliott 5

He was involved in the first half and looked to be creating a few chances, albeit with nothing coming from them. Had a really quiet second half and was rarely seen.

Sam Gallagher 4

A really poor first touch let him down on a few occasions. This was a chance to prove himself leading the line and it wasn’t taken. Disappointing.

Substitutes:

Ryan Nyambe (on 42 mins, replacing Joe Rankin-Costello) 6

Helped keep Onyedinma quiet down his side, and he got forward well. Likely to be one of his last appearances for the club.

Stewart Downing (on 57 mins, replacing Lewis Holtby) 6

Brought more life to the match than Holtby, but ultimately no success.

Tyrhys Dolan (on 58 mins, replacing Ben Brereton) 5

Plenty of running and endeavour but Wycombe’s physical presence limited his impact.

Bradley Johnson (on 72 mins, replacing Harvey Elliott) 5

Brought that fight into the midfield that we missed for the first seventy minutes or so. Should have done better with his chance.

John Buckley (on 72 mins, replacing Tom Trybull) 5

Looked to help Rovers get forward but to no avail.

We are hosting a special live stream on Tuesday 27 July to raise some much needed funds for our charity partner 'Sporting Minds UK', who provide much needed mental health support for sportspeople.

There are plenty of prizes up for grabs, including a signed pair of boots from Elliott Bennett and signed shirts from John Buckley and Joe Rothwell.

To donate, please visit rcdonate.com and give whatever you can to help support this wonderful cause. Thank you.
