Ben Brereton was an unused substitute as Chile drew 1-1 with Argentina in their 2022 World Cup qualifying stage.
Barcelona forward Lionel Messi opened the scoring from the spot in the first half before Inter Milan’s Alexis Sanchez equalised to put the sides level at the break.
Brereton, who scored seven goals and assisted five across 43 appearances this season, received his first call up to the Chile national side late last month – with ‘Breo’ eligible due to his mother being born in the South American country.
Brereton will look to make his debut as Chile host Bolivia in the early hours of Wednesday morning, before their Copa America campaign gets underway on the following Monday (14 June).
