Player ratings as Rovers draw at Millwall

Daniel Ainsworth hands out his player ratings as Rovers draw at Millwall…

Thomas Kaminski 7

Dealt pretty well with the constant long balls into his area. Questionable with their goal, but was solid other than that.

Ryan Nyambe 6

He was under constant pressure with the majority of the hosts’ chances coming down the left through Scott Malone, and that led to their goal. Struggled to influence the match going forward.

Darragh Lenihan 7

Dealt well with the experienced Benik Afobe and had a solid performance alongside Daniel Ayala.

Daniel Ayala 8

Another impressive performance from the Spaniard. He was clever in the air – winning eight headers – and battled all day long. If he can stay fit, he could be a big asset to the side. Man Of The Match.

Harry Pickering 6

Had his ups and downs against the Millwall wing-back, and he did struggle going forward at times. An average start to life in a Rovers shirt.

Lewis Travis 7

Was never far from the thick of the action and got through a serious amount of work. At times broke forward from his holding midfield spot but helped deny the space available to Millwall’s star man Wallace.

Joe Rothwell 7

Played deeper than usual but he did his best to influence the match. He came alive after the break and delivered a good cross for Diaz’s goal.

John Buckley 6

He struggled to influence the match in a deeper role and he didn’t get the ball at his feet like the previous two matches. It was the right decision to replace him.

Sam Gallagher 7

A performance that would have been up there for man of the match with a goal/assist. Worked his socks off pressing and winning aerial duels.

Ben Brereton 7

Constant runs forward, sometimes with no success, but he caused issues for the opposition. His header was a really well-taken goal and he has confidence levels we’ve never seen before.

Tyrhys Dolan 5

Couldn’t get into the match as he was often left isolated up front when any balls made their way up to him. A big contrast to the victory at Millwall last season.

Hayden Carter 7 (replaced Tyrhys Dolan after 46 mins)

Nothing special but he did the defensive work required with his heading and clearances.

Harry Chapman 6 (replaced Harry Pickering after 74 mins)

A first competitive appearance in a long time and struggled to influence the match.

Dan Butterworth 7 (replaced John Buckley after 74 mins)

Was clever and comfortable with the ball at his feet off the bench and showed he could be a good asset off the bench this season.
