Ratings as Khadra and Butterworth make an impact off the bench

Daniel Ainsworth hands out his ratings as Rovers record a victory under the lights at the expense of Hull…

Thomas Kaminski 7

A first clean sheet since March and a deserved one given his performances since then. He made a couple of notable saves and helped us avoid a nervy ending.

Strong defensively. Showed a few signs of slopiness but a positive performance overall and helped us move forward.

Darragh Lenihan 7

Led the line well and he has stepped up to the challenge of leading this young side. Works very well alongside Ayala.

Daniel Ayala 9

Another top performance from the Spaniard. Leapt like a salmon for the goal, was solid and accurate with his passing and did well in the air. Man Of The Match.

Harry Pickering 7

Dealt well with the lively Malik Wilks and added some attacking input in the second half. Growing into his role and seems to have now settled in the Championship.

Lewis Travis 7

Came alive in the second half after a quiet 45 minutes. Picked up an assist for Diaz’s goal with a well-found pass. Added a bit of urgency going forward in recent weeks.

Leighton Clarkson 5

A disappointing night for the Rovers fan. He has quality, but he just couldn’t make an impact and often found his passes intercepted. Will suit other matches better.

Joe Rothwell 7

Another player who flourished after the break. He now has Khadra to share the responsibility of driving Rovers forward and delivered a good ball for Ayala’s header.

John Buckley 6

He was isolated on the right hand side of the three, and a false nine or midfield role would have worked better for him.

Ben Brereton Diaz 7

A disappointing opening 60 minutes in which he lacked composure on the ball and he couldn’t keep it in his control. However, the substitutions brought him alive and he finished excellently for his goal.

Tyrhys Dolan 7

The bright spark of a dull first half as he came close twice from distance. Caused Hull problems and probably deserved a goal.

Reda Khadra 7 (replaced John Buckley after 54 mins)

A really positive introduction. Brought Rovers alive and showed a lot of promise. Helped Rovers get the ball forward and was instrumental in turning the match in our favour. Showed he can cross a good ball as well.

Dan Butterworth 7 (replaced Leighton Clarkson after 54 mins)

Helped Rovers get forward alongside Khadra and showed why people want to see him more often. Could be in line to start this weekend as he gives the team a different approach.

Jacob Davenport N/A (replaced Tyrhys Dolan after 89 mins)

Came on late to see out the match.
