Daniel Ainsworth discusses three talking points as Rovers put five past Cardiff City…
Ben Brereton Diaz x3
I tweeted this during the match, but what an excellent feeling it is to see Ben Brereton Diaz playing with the confidence and swagger he is showing.
His volley was well-taken for the first, the second was a tad lucky but he scored and the penalty was dispatched really well, and I’m delighted for him to be taking the match ball home.

The support from the stands is excellent as well, and long may it continue.
Also, the Sky Bet traders might just be looking over their shoulders at the pre-season bet they offered us…
I could have picked out each and every player for praise here, but I wanted to make a comment on John Buckley.
Since his breakthrough, we have seen plenty of criticism about how ‘lightweight’ he is and similar remarks, but he showed today – as he has regularly this season – just how crucial he can be to the midfield.
The 21-year-old still has time to grow and develop as a player, and I – for one – am excited to see him in the middle for Rovers in the years to come.
How far can this Rovers side go?
Since leaving Ewood, I have been trying to stop getting ahead of myself, but I just can’t help it! The question is, just how far can this team go this season?
I’m still under the ethos of taking the season match by match, despite how hard it is when the points keep coming!
Enjoy the victory Rovers fans, and enjoy tonight knowing we have a team who fight for each other and the badge, leaving nothing on the pitch.
Thanks for reading.
