A late penalty denied league leaders Rovers from taking all three points as they drew with Leeds United on Saturday afternoon.

Georgie Gent gave Rovers the lead twenty-five minutes from the end but as Rovers looked to be taking all three points, Lui Bradbury’s penalty meant that Kidd’s side had to settle for a point.

Early on, Charlie Weston tested the visiting ‘keeper twice, before Jay Buchan’s volley was well saved by Felix Goddard in the Rovers goal.

Both sides pushed for an opener before the break, but neither could find the net as the teams were level at half-time.

Following the restart, both sides had chances to go ahead, but it was Rovers who would take that chance as Georgie Gent curled in an excellent 30-yard free-kick that the Leeds ‘keeper had no chance with.

Rovers looked to be heading for the three points, but Keenan Carole was brought down in the box three minutes from time and up stepped Lui Bradbury to finish from 12 yards to give Leeds a share of the points.

Ryan Kidd’s side are back in action on Saturday as they make the trip to Everton’s Finch Farm to take on the Toffees, with kick-off at 11am.
